We only use SSD drives in a RAID configuration in our Vault™ appliances to give you the best performance and reliability. HiveMind™ Vault™ is a subscription product. We provide the Vault™ appliance to you as part of your monthly subscription, and there is no upfront cost other than shipping and handling–you only have to make the monthly subscription payment. Your Vault™ comes with a set amount of on-premises storage, along with a quota of cloud storage included in your monthly subscription. If there is any issue with the equipment such as a failing drive, etc., chances are we already know about it. We fix it or replace it for you at no cost to you, meanwhile you can just go to the cloud to access your data while your Vault™ is being repaired–you never miss a beat. When you no longer need the services, you just ship the equipment back to us. No more buying expensive servers! It’s just that simple!

How it works:

It’s a Subscription Product: Customers subscribe to the use of their HiveMind™ Vault™ appliance from DigitalUmbrella™ on a monthly basis

No hidden charges: The monthly subscription includes both the use of the Vault™ appliance and the monthly cloud storage up to the quota indicated with the Vault™ subscription.

Cloud Storage Capacity is elastic: Customers can change the base amount of cloud storage in their subscription at any time

You save your data locally: Users save their data into the local Vault™on-premise storage device just like saving to a server

Windows users can map drive letters directly to shares on the Vault™ appliance

Mac and Linux users can map Finder or folder/file namespaces to shares on the Vault™ appliance

Your data is automatically backed up: The appliance will automatically back up the contents of the Vault™ to the available cloud storage, creating a true backup of the data.

Old data is automatically archived (unless you don’t want it to): Data that is not accessed for a long period of time is automatically archived to a separate location in cloud storage away from the backups, then this data is also automatically backed up into separate cloud storage. Which data is included in this auto-archive is user customizable.

You can reach your data wherever you are: Users can connect remotely to either the on-premise or the cloud copies of the data for access using portals or VPN’s wherever they require it

You never run out of storage: If the on-premise Vault™ on-premise storage nears full capacity, the system automatically moves the coldest data to the cloud storage to make room, and the cold files are automatically recalled in real-time whenever needed. They also remain separately backed up just like the on-premise files.

You can use the appliance your way: Customers can utilize the Vault™ appliance either for primary data storage which is then automatically backed up, or as a backup target of their existing primary data storage, in effect creating two layers of backup with capacity only limited by subscription quota.
